We felt the Lord calling us to the Church of Scotland for a number of years and we are grateful to start this call here in Forres with our placement year and Rev Donald Prentice as my supervisor. We are looking forward to learning more about the history and culture of the Scottish people and the Kirk.
Step by Step in Moray is currently offering a reduced indoor service in St Leonard’s Church Hall on Wednesday mornings for families with children under 3 years, who feel isolated or vulnerable. For more information or to book a place to attend safely please contact Step by Step or visit our website.
St Leonard’s church cannot run the usual summer “open Church” this year due to Covid and many of our usual volunteers being at risk. Music recitals: we do hope to run a few Wednesday music recitals 11:00am – 12:30pm limited by social distancing, starting 28th July.
Also we plan to open the Church Transcepts for an art show for three days 10-12 August, 10:00am – 3:00pm. Volunteers are needed to supervise exhibits and welcome people.
ECO Vegetable Garden Scheme – with Vegetable Boxes
We are an eco congregation, as one of the five points of mission. This year we welcome a new start up initiative of an enlightened, eco friendly, bio dynamic farm project. This is open to anyone to join, simply as passive members or as volunteer work on Thursday mornings. The membership for the weekly vegetarian box scheme is a modest amount. Further details from Donald on 672380.
We are trying to help a family coming to work for the Church in Forres in the first week in August.
They have only the suitcases of clothes they can carry having given all their household to poor people where they have left. The aim is to ask all Forres Christians if they have any surplus white goods (like a spare washing machine, dryer, fridge, freezer etc) they might be willing to donate. This will enable a very committed Christian family engage more quickly in God’s work. Please call Rev Donald Prentice on Forres 672380 for collection. Or use the contact form.
With restrictions gradually easing it is good to see the return of a number of our hall users.
